On October 5, 2005 the Museum was visited by John Stepanhuk, the US Consul General in Yekaterinburg, Bradley Hurst, Public Affairs Officer, Maria Tofan, Political and Economic Officer's Assistant, and Julia Grigorieva, Public Affairs Officer's Assistant . 

On October 6, John Stepanchuk, he US Consul General, Tatiana Margolina, Ombudsman, and Director of the Museum "Perm-36" held a press-conference in Perm.  It was arranged to announce the awarding of the graby the US Congress Ambassador’s Fund to the Memorial Center “Perm-36”.

During his visit to the Memorial Center, the US Consul General John Stepanchuk planted a tree in the Sorrow Alley of the Memorial Park The Woods in the Memory of Political Repression Victims and the first pole in the barrage system of the former camp.
