VIKTOR ASTAFIEV AND MUSEUM «PERM-36»
|
À great Russian writer Viktor Astafiev lived in the Urals for 25 years, at first in Tchusovoi (where he wrote his first story; a former camp and now Museum “Perm-36” is located not far away from that town), and later in Perm.
From the very beginning, Astafiev was a big supporter of creation of the Museum, When the Museum came to life, he became the most active member of its Board – he wrote letters to the governor of the region and to the Minister of Culture, helped with fundraising and exhibits.
Viktor Astafiev was an honorary freeman of Perm. His last trip to this city was made by the Museum’s invitation and on its business.
