Since 2002, the Center, the Perm State University department of Political Studies, and the Perm Regional Institution of Educators’ Professional Development, with the support of the Perm Region Administration Department of Education have been holding regional professional contests for teachers within the Russia. The 20th century, in 2004/2005 – Russia. The Authorities and Society. From the Past to the Future. In the framework of the contests participants can attend 3-4 trainings which are held throughout the school year in Perm and in the Memorial Museum Perm-36. In 2002/2003 twenty-two teachers took part in the contest, in 2003/2004 – 55 teachers, and in 2004/2005 – 52 teachers of History and Literature. The finalists of the regional contest Russia. The Authorities and Society take part in the All-Russian contest The topic of the lesson is: the history of political repressions and opposition to non-freedom in the USSR, which is organized by the museum and social center of Andrei Sakharov. In 2003 among the participants of the All-Russian contest there were 2 teachers from Perm region, in 2004 – 3, and in 2005 – 5. In 2005, Perm region became the acknowledged winner of the All-Russian contest in terms of the amount of participants and the quality of presented lessons. In 2005/2006 the motto of the Perm region professional contest for teachers Russia. The Authorities and Society will be “I’m the citizen of Russia".
